  1. Tim C Says:

For each house the energy used to heat it each day will be a constant multiplied by the number of degree days. The more energy efficient the house the smaller the value of the constant.

  2. oldcorps1947 Says:

We investigated the feasibility of the "home-office" write off and we found it not to be worth the effort. When you sell the house you have to sell the office separate from the rest (with recapture) and you have to use the designated home office space entirely as a home office–no TV, no visitors spending the night etc. It is a complex issue–you are better off checking this with a accountant or lawyer savvy with tax law.

  3. Dinah Says:

I heard someone on Italian TV yesterday saying that she prefers the term "imprenditrice" (entrepreneur) to housewife, because bringing up a family and making a home is a family business.

    Alternatively, perhaps home-maker.
