Trying out capturing water falling on an object. Only had a couple minutes today so I rigged something small up to try out what was involved in order to see if it was something I’d like to do with a better set up. As it turns out, I really do.

Dripping water on tomato. Vivitar 383 wirelessly triggered off the base of some cabinets creating a softbox above the tomato. (Hence the large diffused hilight on the tomato – if I had moved the flash I could have moved the hilight but liked it’s current position).

This video is my firs in moviemaker, and for some reason the quality isn’t as good as it could have been, but it turned out ok.

The video is made out of 12 individual shots. I simply put my camera on the floor, put it to manual focus and bulb I think, and used my external flash to light the mini from different directions. Scrolling throuch them at the computer I figured they would make a cool movie!

Question by Awd W: How do i set up my canon d20 to flash at the end of a BULB shutter release
Need a flash at the last instant the shutter is open. Thanks!
there is no setting to allow me to keep the shutter open with my thumb and have it flash right at the shutter release? i have seen photos where this is done very often but cant seem to figure it out for myself. Guess i will just have to improvise. thanks

Super Bright LED Flash Lights

Super bright LED flash lights may come in many variations with different numbers of LED bulbs installed. But LED flash lights also vary in brightness depending on a user’s need for the flash light. The brightness of an LED flash light is measured by Lumens.

There are super bright LED flash lights commercially available today. The most recent super bright LED flash light available in the market today is the one that gives out 742 lumens, the kind of light that LCD overhead projectors use. Other super bright flash lights may have more LED bulbs installed and one can adjust the brightness or dimness of the flash light when they opt how many bulbs will be turned on. But in choosing super bright LED flash lights, one has to consider the lumens output, rather than the number of LED bulbs installed. One LED bulb can be as bright as ten LED bulbs.

One great feature of having a super bright LED flash light or torch is that it will give bright light using simple AA or AAA batteries. The LED flash light will also run longer on these batteries than the regular incandescent bulb flash light. The brightness of an LED flash light depends on the power output from its energy source. Super bright flash lights used by policemen use about three watts. The lumens or bright light of these police flash lights are at ninety lumens. The power input and output also determines the hours that you can use your batteries with the LED flash lights.

It is advisable to have two flash lights when camping outdoors. The smaller flash light can be used so that when you are looking for something, you don’t have to wake up everybody in the tent. Another function with LED torches in case you don’t want to bring an extra flash light is to set it to “dim”. Most LED flash lights have a switch to either set to dim or bright light. The dim light can be used in order to conserve the batteries. But even dim lights in LED flash lights can be brighter than the regular incandescent bulb flash light. Having a super bright LED flash light doesn’t mean that you have to carry extra batteries. The LED flash light can run as much as ten times longer on batteries than the regular incandescent bulb flash light.

The super bright LED flash light may be a bit more expensive than the regular incandescent flash light but it can be worth it when it comes to its use. Getting a LED flash light can save you money in the long run because you don’t have to replace the batteries as often as you would with regular incandescent bulb batteries and the LED bulb can last as long as ten years so you don’t have to worry about its’ bulb burning out.
