Diving in Monterey (accidental video)

My first try diving with the digital camera and its new underwater housing. The housing obscures the controls, so it’s best to memorize them. I didn’t bother with this of course, and set it up for two button point and shoot operation. Photos, that is.
Bad plan! Accidentally hit a random set of controls while under water, and couldn’t get it reset correctly. Didn’t know it, but was shooting video! Camera kept saying it was "busy". Didn’t figure out what was going on until after the dive.
Naturally, most of it was like the final scenes of the Blair Witch Project, but there were a few stretches that are at least viewable. I will try video again though, it provides a nice sense of what’s going on underwater.
Oh yeah, it was a great dive. Many fish, decorator crabs, metridiums, starfish, sun star, a brief seal swim by, and a sea lion waiting at the dive boat. Not all this made the video. The little creatures everywhere are krill.

Dive 1-8-2010, Rainbow divers. Part 1 This was my first dive with my underwater camera, The camera is a Canon PowerShot A590 the underwater housing is a special A590 Ikelite casing. the location of the dive was Botje Zandgat in Zuidbroek, the diving place is a “small” young man made lake, where no fish lives… “yet” as you can see, the water is pretty clear.. in contrast of the typical dutch waters.. we went to a max depth of 24.1 meters, the temperature on that depth was 9 degree Celsius. de dive length was 40 min.
