I got the D90 and installed the strap using my own logic. It seemed okay but then I saw it begin to slip and was horrified that such an expensive product had such an insecure strap. THEN I read the instructions and followed the Diagram (pg.17 in D-90 User Manual). They were simple–about 3 minutes per side. Now you couldn’t make the strap slip without breaking off the camera mounts!! Pays to follow the instructions. Very Safe now.

After installing this strap as stated in the D80 user manual there is not possible for the camera to fall off the straps (unless you cut it or undo it). It is easy to install improperly. Make sure to follow the directions exactly.

Buy this strap if you care about your camera. The cheap ones you can find for a couple bucks will break, I tested a few and they all broke. I have one on my Canon G11 and I never worry about dropping the camera.

Wanted understated camera wrist strap for a larger digital camera, in my case a Ricoh GXR. Product was easy to attach and provides a little more security when using the camera. It is a dark grey not black though.

Bought this for my sister cause she lost the original one coming in her Nikon coolpix, it is a nice well constructed strap for the camera, you do not have the feeling of a cheap strap that would break in no time.

This review is from: Nikon 8072 Microfiber Cleaning Cloth (Electronics)
2006, Amazon states;
Product Dimensions: 13.0 x 10.0 x 7.0 inches
There was no photo (until I uploaded one) so I thought this was the size stated, but turned out to be one of the little keychain bags with about a 5×5 cloth inside.
Works fine, just not what I thought it was, and didn’t want someone else to think it was large also. See my photo for actual size next to some keys.
Update 4/8/2006
I see they added a photo of what I THOUGHT I was getting when I ordered.. see my uploaded photo in “customer” photos to see what they sent.
Edit 03/12/2008
Been used and washed many, many times now and still doing a good job. I keep it on my belt loop every day so outside bag is showing a bit of shine in spots and is a bit lighter in color now, but micro fiber inside is like new. Was a good $5 purchase.
Edit 07/29/2008
Looks like they have the original info problem replaced at this point in time…
Now there are new dimensions listed, but my old cloth still measures
7 x 5.5 inches.
Did they narrow it to 2.5 inches or is it another typo ?
I’d bet on another typo.
and since I’m here… weight on digital postal scale is 0.2 ounces ready to use 8-)
Yes, still working well and washed even more times…
just so you know, I use it for my plastic eye glasses not my camera lenses. Looking through the DSLR view finder in hot weather pushes my glasses into my face and makes a mess.. when shooting, I keep this cloth clipped high on the neck strap ready for fast action before next shot. Needs washing after each day of use in Summer heat.

This review is from: Nikon 8072 Microfiber Cleaning Cloth (Electronics)
I bought two of these Nikon keychain microfibre cloths before I realised they were just custom-branded Spudz, but I didn’t pay any extra for it with the free shipping so it doesn’t matter. It’s very handy to have and the cloth is just like any other microfibre one, but it stores inside the attached elasticised cloth pouch. I don’t know how useful the fact that it’s 18% gray really is…but it’d be perfect if the pouch had a little elastic flap over the opening to keep out the lint from your pocket. If you like Nikon, get the Nikon one…if you like Sigma, get the Sigma one…but they’re all Spudz.

Good advice from the other reviewer about the picture.
That having been said I have three of these and really wouldn’t want to do without them.
These clean my camera’s screen and the glass on my lenses without a scratch every time.
In my opinion almost a must have in your bag!
Good luck!

This review is from: Opteka Professional Wrist Grip Strap for Digital & Film SLR Cameras (Electronics)
This device is an absolute must-have for any photographer. It allows your hand to completely relax while your hand is at your side, yet still grip the camera with no stress. I use it on my Canon 40D with a large L series lens and it’s comfortable enough to carry the camera without a shoulder strap for several hours without tiring. I would never use a professional camera without one of these wrist straps. It’s very secure and prevents accidentally dropping the camera while at the same time easing the amount of force necessary to hold or steady the camera.
The strap attaches to the right shoulder strap loop on your camera, and has an attachment that screws into the tripod mount on the underside of the camera. Even with the wrist strap connected, there is an additional loop provided so that you can also attach a shoulder strap if desired, though I’ve never used this feature.
Unlike Canon’s wrist strap, this unit can be used without the battery pack. A friend recently dropped her camera and did severe damage to it as she wasn’t using one of these wrist straps. It’s a very inexpensive bit of comfort and insurance that you’ll come to love.

April 2011 update: I’ve been using this same Opteka wrist grip for nearly 3 years on my Canon 40D and more recently on a Canon 5D Mark II. It’s worked beautifully and is as durable and good looking today as it was when I bought it. I am absolutely delighted with it and have nothing but raves for Opteka. I can walk around for hours holding my heavy camera and Canon’s 24-105mm L series lens using only the Opteka grip and have no fatigue whatsoever. I’ve attached a shoulder strap to the camera’s other strap loop and the base of the Opteka grip, and it works great if I need a shoulder strap. Even after 3 years I still consider this item a must have for both professional and amateur photographers.

As a pro with more than 30 years in the business, I have never used this type of camera strap – I always wiped it away as a “Micey Mouse Thing”.
Now, after all these years I finally purchased one and I can’t believe the difference…
Okay, much safer than hand carrying – but this is the secondary part – the important difference is the feel, and the sensitivity in the trigger-finger. While normally the fingers merely occupied holding the camera, you have now the weight different distributed and your fingers free for the actual important and sensitive task to push buttons, turn the wheel etc. A must-feel-experience!
I can’t believe the difference! I just ordered the second one for another camera….
To go more in detail – my cameras are quite heavy and most of them have a battery grip. This makes the distance between tripod mount and upper strap attachment perfect for this hand strap. On most of my cameras I have about 4+ inches, adequate to have the strap snug around my hand – firm and comfortable at the right length. If I try the strap on a smaller camera with only about 2+ inches height, or without battery grip, the handling appears rather odd.
Therefore, if you have a larger camera, or use a battery grip, the opteka strap does amazing things for you. If your camera does not have a battery grip, you might not absolutely share my exhitement for it.
Either way, it is definitelly worth trying, considering the relative low price.
The quality appears okay and the looks is good. The leather part is actually some type of nylon or artificial leather – let’s see how long this is holding up under heavy pro use.
Highly recommendable! Great price!
It takes a lot of hand shaking out of shooting and will definitelly help to get sharper pictures.

All you have to do is adjust it to fit your hand size and bam, it becomes part of your camera. You will never take it off once you put it on. Very comfortable and secure. Holding my slr for hours used to take its toll on me but not anymore.

If only I had one of these when I still played the saxophone!
This is perfect for my neck and it is very secure. Anyone who has seen this neck strap either wanted one for themselves or asked where I got it from.
I definitely recommend this neck strap for everyone. Don’t bother hesitating about the strap, it’s much better than the straps that automatically comes with a camera.

I bought this over a month ago and as soon as I took a close look at it I knew that it would not be sufficient. The worksmanship is poor compared to the original and new Tamrac N-45 strap I just received! The main part of the strap has a very “spongy” feel and the ends that go thru the loops feel very thin and dainty….the stitching was not done cleanly either (many loose, hanging threads). Also if you are looking for some more length out of your new strap this is not the one to get. AND there is a cheesy “for Nikon” logo stamped onto it, it has already started to peel. I wish the company had a better return policy so I could get my money back. I highly recommend buying a Tamrac strap…they have great products!

@ka1axy, Isn’t it a cool, comfortable strap? I’ve since sold this set up, and kind of regretting it. But I think my father in law is going to send me his Olympus OM1 with the same strap.
I really like the original Nikon strap which came with my camera. Yet I don’t like how the Nikon Logo vanishes with the time. Just like on your pic. I would have preferred an embroidery.

Not for heavy cameras,
Strap was well constructed. But did not have padding. Pulled and rubbed neck. While it was sturdy it provided no comfort.
