41.083 Terrier-Improved Orion was launched from NASA Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, VA. The purpose of this mission was to provide university undergraduate level students and instructors with a hands-on space flight opportunity. Peak altitude of 117 km (~72 miles high, suborbital). Speed in excess of Mach 4. Payload section recovered in Atlantic Ocean by boat and returned to Wallops later that morning for study.

The launch was pre-dawn. As the rocket rises, it passes through dawn and into sunlight, as seen in the change in colors of the sunlit smoke trail as it gets higher (red, orange, yellow, white).

Imaged with a Canon HF S100 High Definition Camcorder 1920×1080.
